Judgment

扬于王庭，孚号有厉。告自邑，不利即戎，利有攸往。

Breakthrough. One must resolutely make the matter known at the court of the king. It must be announced truthfully. Danger. It is necessary to notify one's own city. It does not further to resort to arms. It furthers one to undertake something.

泽上于天，夬，君子以施禄及下，居德则忌。

The lake has risen up to heaven: the image of breakthrough. Thus the superior person dispenses riches downward and refrains from resting on their virtue.

壮于前趾，往不胜为吝。
Mighty in the forward-striding toes. When one goes and is not equal to the task, one makes a mistake.
Strong in the foremost toe — eager to charge before strength is sufficient; mistake.
Nine in the second · 九二 ⚊ yang
惕号，莫夜有戎，勿恤。
A cry of alarm. Arms at evening and at night. Fear nothing.
On guard, fully prepared with alarm and weapons; even night attacks need not be feared.
Nine in the third · 九三 ⚊ yang
壮于頄，有凶。君子夬夬独行，遇雨若濡，有愠，无咎。
To be powerful in the cheekbones brings misfortune. The superior person is firmly resolved. He walks alone and is caught in the rain. He is bespattered, and people murmur against him. No blame.
Hardness shown in the face brings danger; the resolute one walks alone in rain, soaked, complained against, yet without blame.
Nine in the fourth · 九四 ⚊ yang
臀无肤，其行次且。牵羊悔亡，闻言不信。
There is no skin on his buttocks, and walking comes hard. If a person were to let themselves be led like a sheep, remorse would disappear. But if these words are heard, they will not be believed.
Painful, unable to walk well; if he would let himself be led, regret would pass — but he won't listen.
Nine in the fifth · 九五 ⚊ yang
苋陆夬夬，中行无咎。
In dealing with weeds, firm resolution is necessary. Walking the middle path remains free of blame.
Weeds (the last clingers of corruption) demand decisive cutting; walking the middle, blameless.
Six at the top · 上六 ⚋ yin
无号，终有凶。
No cry. In the end, misfortune comes.
No warning, no alarm sounded — and at the end, misfortune arrives unopposed.
